Easter Sunday ... He Is Risen! April4, 2021
A place to call home: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today.
We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus:
How often do you think about Easter? When you do think about it, what comes to mind? Easter is more than a date on the calendar,
it is more than the earthly traditions which have become associated with Easter; it is about hope, a hope like no other.
At the rootof this hope is the empty tomb of Jesus. Think of what this hope means for you, and let this hope lead you through your
days on this earth. Let us worship the One who has given us this hope.

A place to call home:
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, welcome home. We especially welcome to our house of worship our guests who have joined us today.
We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through Jesus. We say with the
Psalmist, whether here on campus or viewing online, “I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the
LORD’”(Psalm 122:1). May the Lord continue to help us grow in His grace and knowledge as we hear, speak, and sing His holy Word.
Worship Focus:
This is a day of mixed emotions as we pause to remember why Jesus had to die; it was not for anything that He had done wrong,
but it has everything to do with what we have done wrong. On the flip side, because He was willing to give of Himself in this way,
to the point of death, we have forgiveness for all that we have done wrong; no other payment for sin is needed. With that in mind
we focus once again on...the why, the result, and the what now associated with Good Friday.
Prayer for Worship: Dearest Jesus, how can we thank You for the price You paid that we might be at one with the Father? Thank You
for the sacrifice of Yourself on the cross as our Substitute. Firm up our faith as we humbly remember on this Good Friday Your cross
and tomb. Amen.

Maunday-Thursday April 1, 2021
WHAT IS MAUNDY THURSDAY?
Maundy Thursday receives its name from the Latin phrase novum mandatum, which means, “new command.” It refers to Jesus’ words which he
spoke to his disciples on this night, “A new command I give you: Love one another” (John 13:34). The institution of the Lord’s Supper
on that night displays the depth of Jesus’ love for us and gives power to the church to live out his command.

He’s here! Our Savior enters Jerusalem as our conquering king! And yet, he doesn’t enter the city as one might think he would.
Our King comes lowly and humble. What a perfect way to point us to the events of the week ahead! Our humble Savior enters Jerusalem
to die for our sins. So then today let us rejoice with the believing crowd on that first Palm Sunday and raise shouts of “Hosanna!”
to our Lord! He’s here, and he comes to conquer our foes of sin, death, and the devil!.

Worship Focus:
What shall ‘I’ do with Jesus? During this Lenten Season we will explore various answers to this important question.
What Jesus has done on your behalf, on behalf of the entire world population of all time, is not to be taken lightly or treated
like ‘we have heard this all before.’ Themessage is indeed relevant, needed just as much now as it was for previous generations.
What do you do with Jesus, not just during Lent but every day of your entire life here on earth? Your answer is important.
God help us see and appreciate His powerful display of mercy; and then celebrate the fact He did this for you, and for
others ---tell them about it.

How central is Jesus to our life after death, and even during our life on
earth? Without the life and death and life again of Jesus what do we have going for us? Jesus knew
there was no other way to bring about our reconciliation. How do you show in your life that you get
what Jesus had to do for you? Contemplate the work of Jesus, and how you show thankfulness as we

Do you like snakes? Why or why not? Not all snakes are ‘cute and cuddly,’ rather a
good number of them are deadly. As we might recognize a snake to be deadly, do we see sin (our sin)
as being deadly? If we take steps to avoid deadly snakes, should we not all the more take steps to
avoid sin which is deadlier? How can we do that? God has the answers. God help us digest these
answers once again as we open our ears to His powerful, life-giving / saving Word. Let us worship
Him!
