A place to call home: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today.
We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus : What is something we can take for granted though we may daily witness this taking
place ? The growth and decay of life , in particular the trees and plants we drive by or walk by or see
outside our window . Branches attached to the trunk, sprout ; branches cut or broken off, decay. How
can we tell if people are connected to the life Source, Jesus? Are they ‘sprouting’ or ‘decaying’? Today
we explore this subject matter through the eyes of our Savior, thanks to His Holy Word.

Worship Focus : Jesus does not hide the fact the earthly (visible) church(es) will be subject to error
as people seek to follow and teach their own ideas about God, this has taken place throughout
history. Instead of being turned off to the church(es), the Lord provides other options for us to
pursue with the goal of getting not only ourselves but countless others into His heaven. Continue,
then, to listen to the voice of Jesus as He speaks to us through His Word. Give thanks for churches
that do remain faithful to the Word of God.

Worship Focus: When you hear the phrase ‘times of refreshing,’ what comes to mind? A three day
vacation? A shower after a day out in the woods or after an intense workout at the Gym? Jesus also
uses this phrase as a way to describe what He has to offer us with the assurance of the forgiveness of our sins.
Think of the peace which surpasses understanding that come s through Jesus. Times of
refreshing also come through our being in the Word. With that in mind we begin this opportunity to
be refreshed.

A place to call home: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, welcome home. We especially welcome to our house of worship our guests who have joined us today. We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through Jesus.
We say with the Psalmist, whether here on campus or viewing online, “I rejoiced with those who said to me,
‘Let us go to the house of the LORD’” (Psalm 122:1).
May the Lord continue to help us grow in His grace and knowledge as we hear, speak, and sing His holy Word.
Worship Focus: The world is a … (how would finish this?) The world is a harvest field. The world
is in need of Jesus. The world is a mess. The world as we know it is coming to an end. The world is all of that and more. And who has been called to tell the world what it is and what it needs? That would be you. Are you equipped for it? Yes, you are for we do not equip ourselves; our equipping comes from God. You being here today adds to this equipping for the task. The world needs you.
Enjoy your worship.

Worship Focus: What do you hope for as you go through this life? Do your hopes change with what is going on in your life, what stage of life you are at? Earthly hopes are subject to change and to disappointment; hope that originates in heaven, and in particular on this day comes with
the promise of heaven, is a sure thing. This hope is not in vain. This hope enables us to endure the
hopes which disappoint. Christ Jesus has arisen – HOPE is alive!

In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today.
We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: For the past six weeks we have been talking about a love story, the greatest love
story. It is the one God wrote and acted on. Today we see the high point of this love story …
which is more than just ‘a story’ as it deals with and impacts our life whether one believes it to be
true or not. The church Season of Lent provides the perfect setting to see and hear God’s love for
you, even if we have heard it countless times. In response, the Holy Spirit prompts us and directs
us on how to show our love for God. We can rightly say, then, that what is before us in no ordinary
love story.
We welcome the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Chorus
and the opportunity to worship our Lord together in this place.
