CELEBRATING THE GOODNESS OF GOD
Advent Midweek Three - Who is Jesus?
GLORIFY HIM ...GROW IN HIM ...GO WITH HIS GOSPEL
Worship Focus:
It is not an accurate assumption to think everyone knows who Jesus is. Some claim not to have heard of Him.
Others may know about Him but do not believe in Him as the Savior of all people. Thankfully Jesus has revealed
who He is and why this knowledge is important. He has revealed such for people of all ages. He has revealed
this knowledge on the pages of Holy Scripture. God help us grow in our knowledge of who Jesus is, and celebrate
the truth; along with helping us share who He is with others. This is our focus during another Advent Season
of the Church Year.

In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, welcome home. We especially welcome to our house of worship
our guests who have joined us today. We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love,

Worship Focus: How would you describe ‘light?’ Overall light is good and it can lift people up
emotionally, as well as offer a sense of security. Jesus is called ‘the Light of the world,’ and for good
reason. Hear again today why Jesus is referred to as ‘light,’ and what you can do with Him who is light.

Worship Focus:
Jesus arrived on the scene at Christmas and later again as he was about to begin his ministry. Both times there
were people eagerly awaiting his advent. Why? Because God graciously provided forerunners to prepare the way.
God todayprovides forerunners for Christ’s advent on the Last Day: his Scriptures, pastors, teachers, elders,
and allof us. We proclaim the same message as previous forerunners: “Here he comes! Get ready! Prepare the way!”

Focus of Today’s Service: Do you look forward to bedtime, and getting a good night’s sleep? Life
can be exhausting, sleep can help recharge us. But there is an area of life we cannot afford to fall
asleep; it has to do with our spiritual life. We cannot take time off from our relationship with Jesus as
that will not end well for us. By staying connected to the Word of God we are able to remain awake
and alert; and so we look forward to our worship once again.

Worship Focus: How often do you say the words ‘thank you’? Does something have to happen first
before you would say those words to someone? How often do you direct them God’s way? What has
God done to earn our ‘thank you’? Through our look at the Psalms today we are reminded of the
why behind our saying ‘thank you’ to God and how often we are encouraged to say this to Him.
