GLORIFY HIM ... GROW IN HIM ... GO WITH HIS GOSPEL
1st Sunday after the Epiphany of our Lord
January 10, 2021
A place to call home: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, welcome home.
We especially welcome to our house of worship our guests who have joined us today.
We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness
to us through Jesus.
Worship Focus: How has the Gospel changed your life? Can you remember a time you have been
without the Gospel? Do we get complacent with the Gospel, its message no longer exhilarates us?
We may lose our love for the Gospel, but the problem is not with the Gospel. Keep fueling up with
the Gospel, and help others get fueled up on it too. Let us worship the Lord!

Worship Focus: The world was in darkness. Then Jesus came and brought light! But he didn’t just
bring light to the people of Israel—he brought light to the whole world. Today is the day each year
we celebrate that fact. Epiphany means to “shine light” or “reveal,” and this day is especially
important for us Gentiles because we celebrate how God has brought us into unity with his people
and has made us a part of Israel, too. How? He has revealed the mystery of Christ’s glory…to all
people.

Worship Focus: Gathering together seems to have become a ‘dirty’ word in the past year; however,
that is exactly what we are to and need to do when it comes to the Word of God. Maybe we cannot
gather in person together, yet we can still gather around the Word... and we are not alone in such
a gathering as countless people make the time to gather regularly at the feet of our Lord by way of
His Word... in person safely or online. God bless your gathering around His Word.

emotionally, as well as offer a sense of security. Jesus is called ‘the Light of the world,’ and for good
reason. Hear again today why Jesus is referred to as ‘light,’ and what you can do with Him who is light.
