We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: Has money, getting rich, been a temptation for you? The Lord does not say we
cannot have money or be wealthy; yet He does talk about the dangers associated with money,
especially from a spiritual point of view. Temptation starts in the heart and can lead to action, as we
see in our Readings for today. What is keeping you from viewing and using God’s gift of money in
ways that are pleasing to Him and beneficial for yourself and to others?

We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: Do you have any expectations when it comes to all or some aspects of your life? It
is good to have expectations for ourselves and for others, especially if we are a parent. God has
expectations. He has laid them out in His Word. His expectations apply to all people no matter the
circumstance we/they find themselves in during this life. Today we focus on expectations related to
male and female, husband and wife, parents and children. God help us meet His expectations for our
good, and for the good of those in our life.

We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: Do you like to add salt on your food? For some this would be a firm NO due to
doctor’s orders, but for others the food might not be palatable if it were not for the added salt. When
it comes to God’s Word, we are encouraged to be and remain full of salt; this salt is good for us. And
it is this salt we are to pass on to others. What exactly is this salt, how can we keep on digesting this
salt, how can we pass it on to others? These and more questions will focus our attention through our
worship this day.

Worship Focus: Let go of my … What commercial comes to mind when you hear those words? In
our Scripture Readings for today, the Lord is not talking about waffles but something far more
personal and important. He reminds us to let go of our ego. Don’t think you have one? Think again,
we all have an ego which needs to be checked at the door. Imitate the example of our Savior.
Relationships are at stake, including yours with God. Thankfully His mercies are new each day, the
motive and power to let go and build up.

Worship Focus: Do you like to lose … at cards, on the court, at work, …? To one degree or
another each one of us has a competive bone in our body. Someone else does not like to lose, and
that is Satan; so much so he throws all that he can to knock us off of our walk with Jesus. Thankfully
someone else does not like to lose, and that is Jesus; He does not want to lose you, and He went to
great lengths to prove this. When it comes to your faith in Jesus, hold on to it at all costs; you are not
alone in making this happen … in fact, you are in a good place today to win.
