ST. MARK’S: RISE TO YOUR MISSION! What is the mission of our congregation? What is the mission of the Christian Church at large? Several years ago, the leaders of St. Mark’s studied the Scriptures to craft a church mission statement that would reflect the purpose and mission of the Christian Church, as described in the Bible, summarized in short, succinct phrases. That mission statement has been visible on the large banner inside our gymnasium for several years, and now that mission statement is clearly on display on the back wall of the church. The mission of St. Mark’s is to…. GLORIFY GOD GROW IN GRACE GO WITH THE GOSPEL But what do these phrases mean? And why are they so important to what we do as a Christian congregation? For the next three weeks of this Epiphany season, we are going to consider the importance of the church’s mission, summarized by our mission statement, through our Sunday services and sermons and through a series of small-group in-home studies during the course of the week. If you would like to join one of these small group studies beginning this week, you can find complete information and can sign up to attend a study group in the sign-up area of the information center in the lobby. Our study times and locations for the next three weeks are: Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in Rancho Cordova Mondays at 7:30 p.m. in Citrus Heights Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in Folsom God bless us as we study his mission for the church and strive to fulfill it in our congregation and in our daily lives!
