A place to call home: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, welcome home. We especially welcome to our house of
worship our guests who have joined us today. We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through Jesus.
Worship Focus: When you think of a love story, does your mind right away go to the greatest love story of all time … that being the one God wrote and acted on? The church Season of Lent
provides the perfect setting to see and hear God’s love for you, even if you have heard it countless times. The focus during Lent is not on what we have to do but on what God already has done for us, and how He keeps it in front of us all our days on this side of heaven. In response, the Holy
Spirit prompts us and directs us on how to show our love for God. We can rightly say, then, that what is before us in no ordinary love story.

We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: If the world is right in saying there is no god and everyone can live however they
want (except when it goes against ‘them’), why are we seeing an increase in hate and violence and
lack of tolerance of people who are not ‘like’ us? Could God have been right all along on what this
world needs? Thankfully it is not too late to do a U -turn, to be His witnesses by living ourselves and
encouraging others to live His expectations . We worship Him with this goal in mind and heart.

We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus : Have all your dreams come true? Have you been able to accomplish all the things
in this life you wanted to accomplish? If so, give thanks. If not, give thanks. What matters is not what
we accomplish in this life , but what has been accomplished for us. This is not to say we are not to
have or cannot have accomplishments and live out dreams, it is just that we keep such in perspective
for ultimate success does not come from us but rather to us and lives in us thanks to the Holy Spirit.
What does this success look like? That is part of our focus this morning.

In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, welcome home. We especially welcome to our house of
worship our guests who have joined us today. We pray you will be strengthened by the good news
about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through Jesus.
We say with the Psalmist, whether here on campus or viewing online, “I rejoiced with those who said to me,
‘Let us go to the house of the LORD’” (Psalm 122:1).
May the Lord continue to help us grow in His grace and knowledge as we hear, speak, and sing His
holy Word.

Worship Focus: As a student, did you enjoy taking tests? Tests don’t stop when we become adults,
whether it be tests for work or driver license tests or tests which come with various life situations
such as ill health or financial hardship. While we cannot keep from faci ng tests , we can work on
being prepared for them. God gives us what we need to be prepared ahead of ti me and when the
tests come. The value of His Word , the Word filled with promises based on facts and also filled with
direction for our li fe, is highlighted once a gain today.

Worship Focus : When it comes to needing a flashlight, how often do you check the charge or the
batteries to make sure it is ready to go when needed? It is good to be proactive, not just with
flashlights but even more so with our soul getting and staying charged . God has provided the power
we need to keep the soul charged ; His provision is rooted in Jesus and the light He is and gives off.
Connected to Him we are not only staying charged, we are also able to light the way for others. God
be praised for yet another opportunity to remain charged through Him who is light.

Worship Focus: Lonely. Hurting. Confused. Frustrated. Angry. Any of those words connect with
you, either at one time or currently? We know we have so much to be thankful for and to be positive
about, and yet being real with ourselves this earthly life can at times get the best of us. What then? To think God is not concerned or is not able to do anything for us is not the case, this is why we are
directed again to what He has to say by way of His Word and Sacrament. With a sure hope in heart
we worship Him.

Worship Focus : What do you find amazing as you go through this life? Perhaps it is a place you
traveled to and that place took your breath away (thankfully you are still breathing). Perhaps it is
being able to recover from a medical situation , or as you reflect on how life in the womb begins and
grows, or that God would send His own Son to save someone like you (us). We hear about some
amazing facts once again today . Through His Word God keeps us amazed, pass on the amazement.

shown patience toward God ? Who is more deserving of patience? As we consider ‘living’ patience,
what impact does / will that have in your life ? Today we give thanks for God’s patience toward us,
and for the reminder what that patience all means for us.
