Worship Focus: Pentecost Day marks the birthday of the Holy Christian Church. After his ascension into heaven, Jesus fulfilled his promise by sending the Holy Spirit on his disciples in a miraculous way to hasten the spread of the gospel. Today we commemorate this important even that took place 50 days after Jesus’ resurrection, and we celebrate the work of the Holy Spirit in the Church and in our own lives.

Sixth Sunday of Easter
Sunday May 01, 2016
Sunday May 01, 2016
Worship Focus: Today we stand just a few days away from Jesus’ Ascension (which we will celebrate in a special service this week Thursday at 7:00 p.m.). Jesus has words of encouragement for his disciples as he looks ahead to the time when he would return to heaven and his disciples would be left behind as the first leaders of the Christian Church. As we apply these words to ourselves, our Lord’s promises encourage us—and, today, especially our confirmands—as we live as God’s people in this world.

Fifth Sunday of Easter
Sunday Apr 24, 2016
Sunday Apr 24, 2016
Worship Focus: There is no greater event in human history than the resurrection of Jesus! And there is no more natural response to the death and resurrection of Jesus than for Christians to express their gratitude to God with love for him and for each another. Today’s service shows us how God’s saving love for us equips, enables, and inspires us to love one another. Serving at Worship

Welcome to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School!
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s
Worship Focus: The Bible states quite clearly that if Christ has not been raised, our faith in him is pointless. Conversely, since Christ has been raised, our faith is built on the sure and solid facts of his resurrection and our faith finds a sure and solid foundation for our eternal future. This third Sunday of the Easter season underscores the reality of Jesus’ resurrection and the confidence we can have because of Jesus’ resurrection.
