April 23, 2017
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Worship Focus: The resurrection of Jesus Christ almost sounds like it’s too good to be true. But the amazing nature of this miracle does not change the fact that it is fact! Today the risen Jesus comes to us in his powerful word to dispel the doubts that assault our faith and to assure us that he has risen indeed—and one day, we too will rise from death to eternal life at our Lord’s side. Welcome to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School!
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Worship Focus: Hail the King who humbly comes to save us! For 1,700 years, the Church has celebrated, with hosannas and palm branches, this festival day that begins Holy Week. The time for Christ’s glory had come. He would not, however, gain glory in the manner of other kings. Rather, he humbles himself in great acts of love for us, and then the Father will exalt him to the highest place, because he had fulfilled God’s mission to save mankind.

Worship Focus: Light and darkness are common biblical metaphors for a person’s spiritual condition. Darkness represents sin and unbelief; light represents faith and godly living. As we continue working our way through the major themes of Scripture this Lenten season, we see how Jesus, the Light of the world, has enlightened our hearts and scattered the darkness of sin from our souls by his life-saving, light-giving work of salvation. May the Holy Spirit keep our souls enlightened in Christ! Presiding Minister: Pastor Jason Schmidt Musical Accompanist: Marty Puckett

Worship Focus: Many assumptions exist about how we enter into a relationship with God. God’s Word makes it clear that our works, our ethnicity, or any other personal characteristic we have has nothing to do with our relationship with the Lord. Faith alone—trust in the promises of God to forgive our sins on account of Jesus’ saving work—is what unites us to God. Serving at Worship

In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Worship Focus: Each one of us can think of someone who has been very influential in our lives. But there are two people who have been very influential in every one of our lives: Adam, the first human being God created, and Jesus, the Son of God. Adam’s sin brought sin and death into our world. Jesus’ holiness, death, and resurrection won forgiveness and life for all. Through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Adam’s sin loses its grip on us and Jesus’ life and death assure us of forgiveness and eternal life. Serving at Worship
