Focus of Today’s Service: What do you value? Your list may be long as it might include family, friends, pets, heirlooms, and more. Is ‘freedom’ on your radar? In the U.S. we know what freedom is and the doors it can open; we have also come to experience what happens when freedoms slip away. There is one freedom for sure that keeps on giving even when other freedoms may be slipping away, and that is the freedom we have in and through Christ Jesus. Even before ‘the Reformation’ 500 years ago, this was a valued freedom. May we continue to value it…Today’s worship focus helps us do just that. Enjoy your worship!cus of Today’s Service: Today's service leads us to ponder the question: Am I bearing fruit for my Lord? The Lord prepares good works for us to do, but are we doing them? As he confronts our sinful habits and tendencies in today's readings, we can see that we have a loving God who takes great care of us and provides all we need to thrive spiritually in this world. Because of this, we want to honor him by living fruitful lives of faith for him not only out of thanks to him but also so others might come to know his caring ways.

Focus of Today’s Service: What is one of the most used words when it comes to starting questions? “Why…” Why did this happen or why did that happen. We like to have answers. Some questions either do not have a simple answer or they do not have an answer we want to hear. Why do people get hurt? Simple answer to this is because of sin in the world; yet there may be more to the answer. Today we are reminded of the fact sin comes with consequences. Why? God gets into this in our Scripture Readings.
Presiding Minister: Pastor Jon Kolander
Musical Accompanist: Adrienne Bengel

Worship Focus: What is our God like? Today’s lessons cause the worshiper to ask “Is God fair?” No, he’s not. He doesn’t give us what we deserve, and that’s called mercy. In fact, he gives us what we don’t deserve, and that’s called grace. Our God is inconceivably gracious.

Worship Focus: To forgive or not to forgive, that is the question. Do I like this person or not, is that the answer to whether or not I should forgive someone who hurt me? If someone has paid off all of your debts, if you have any yet, what would be your response? How does your answer line up with what Jesus has to say about this? As we look at His answer keep in mind YOU have been forgiven thus YOU in turn are in a position to forgive. Mercies new every day!

Worship Focus: The church fulfills her role as her brother’s keeper. The privilege, responsibility and importance of this task all rest in the words from our Gospel lesson that follow Jesus’ divine directive, “I tell you the truth…” The keys of the kingdom have been placed in our hands. It is our privilege and responsibility to bind and loose—to be our brother’s keeper—because Christ has appointed the church to carry out that task on his behalf.
Presiding Minister: Pastor Brock Groth
