Worship Focus:
What is mightier than the sword? The pen. God points out that His Word is
living and active, sharper than a double-edged sword. God’s Word has power. You can see
evidence of this in your own life. How so is what we are exploring through our worship today. For
example, God did say we would have trial filled days on earth; and so, He has provided words
which are able to pick us up and help us overcome. His power is before us. Let us worship Him!

Worship Focus: There’s so much that doesn’t make sense to our limited human minds when it comes to our God. Chief among them: How is it possible that he’s three-in-one? While we don’t understand it, the blessings that come from that truth are clearly understood thanks to him. Our Father’s plan of salvation was fulfilled by the Son and powerfully worked in the hearts of his people by the Holy Spirit. Such truth declared by our triune God brings one thing above all else: peace.

This week no online bulletin is available.
Worship Focus: What are you building your life on, that which is temporary or that which is lasting? Do you know how to answer that? For starters, how does your life stack up upon a review of the first three Commandments? Is God your priority? Are you living life to make a name for yourself, or a name for God? If it is for God, how do you go about that? The Scriptures have answers for us. Let us continue to grow in God’s grace and knowledge.

Worship Focus: What does our Lord’s ascension mean for us? It means so many blessings from our gracious Savior God! Today we celebrate the fact that Jesus is indeed seated at God’s powerful right hand. That powerful hand has done so much for his people in the past to protect them, guide them, and clear out their enemies. It will continue to do so for his people today, especially as we work in the world to witness about his grace.

Worship Focus: If you could plan out your life, what would it look like? Life does not always work out the way we have planned. Now what? God has always had a plan for our life. He reveals that plan in the Bible. His plan for us accounts for the bumps and bruises along the way. His plan for us is more than what this world has to offer. Today we are reminded of His plan for us, how we stay on His plan, and what the results will be for us. Keep listening!

Worship Focus: Our risen Lord gives us a very important command as we await his return. It's simple, yet powerful: Love each other as he has loved us. Fulfilling that command brings great benefits for God's kingdom and for those around us, all because of the great love Jesus showed for us and continues to show through us.

Welcome to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School!
Worship Focus: Has it happened to you? You put on a clean shirt and pair of pants only to spill something on the clothes. You hope the stain will come out, otherwise the clothing is ruined. We come into this world stained and there is nothing we can do to remove the stain of sin and the consequences that come with sin. However, we do not have to remain stained people, this thanks to Jesus. What He gives us for the stain works on us every day and enables us to live in God’s perfect heaven. Another reminder of why we are here today to celebrate God’s goodness in our life. Celebrate!

Third Sunday after Easter
May 5, 2019
Welcome to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School!
Focus of Today’s Service: A big, fancy concept Christians sometimes talk about is Jesus’ “exaltation.” This refers to Jesus now after his resurrection making full use of his divine powers. Today we see that power at work with another post-resurrection appearance to his disciples, as well as his appearance and conversion of the apostle Paul. This morning along with the angels in heaven we celebrate and praise him for his divine power and majesty, and we do so all the more knowing he graciously uses them to bring us even more blessings.
SERMON Based on Revelation 5:11-14
Worthy Is the Lamb…Who Was Slain”
Presiding Minister: Pastor Brock Groth
Musical Accompanist: Rosemarie Boushek
