We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through Jesus. Worship Focus: Jesus says today in the Gospel: “ Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. ” How true! There’s so much more to life thanks to Christ and the eternal life he’s given us. However, we often fall into the t emptations of greed and abundance and forget about being rich toward God. So today we get a needed, stern, and loving reminder from our Savior that our earthly wealth is meaningless without him .
Worship Focus: What is it that gives your life purpose? Is it the idea of get what you can out of life? Is it a job or a hobby? Is it a relationship? Our purpose in this life is more than just toattain stuff or to work or to hang with friends. Worship Focus:When we consider how lost we ourselves were before God brought us to faith, it should be no surprise to us to hear God has a great love for the lost. But do we sometimes become self-righteous in our own thinking when it comes to the salvation of those who are lost or straying. So today Jesus impresses upon us the joy God has over one person being “found,” and he invites us to join him in that joy and in his love for the lost.

Focus of Today’s Service: When it comes to your office or your team, you want people who are not committed to the task at hand, correct? We want just the opposite, and for good reason. Jesus is not asking of us anything less than what we expect in those situations. Jesus is upfront about the commitment He expects of us; and, He provides the means for us to measure up and excel inthese expectations. This is one of the reasons why we have gathered together once again.

Worship Focus: God says through Isaiah: “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word” (66:2). But doesn’t that run contrary to what the world tries to teach us? While the world can teach us to be self - serving and arrogant, God tells us he desires humility. After all, who are we really before a holy, all - powerful , and just God? So God calls for us to be humble, not just before him but before others as well. That attitude of humble, loving service is seen in our Savior, and it’s the grace of the Friend of sinners that drives us to show that same loving humility and grace with others and be their friend, too.

Worship Focus:How many doors do you have in the place you call home? Do you ever get mixed
up on what door you need when looking for something specific? Or, open the closet door when you
meant to go outside? Doors serve a purpose. And speaking of doors, t
here is only one which leads to heaven. Which one, and how do we know for certain that is the correct door? Can we buy it? What is
the door and how we get to open it will be central to our worship today.

Worship Focus:There will be division. We know what Jesus says: Because of the gospel, there will be division between God’s people and the world. However, that fact really hits home when that division really hits home. When the ones we love the most are those with whom we have division because of the gospel, it can be tough to handle. It also means we might be tempted to take the side of our loved ones over and above Jesus. But this morning we get to look at the comfort the Word bring seven as it divides. We get to remember that though we might experience division with other people, through his suffering our Savior has secured peace with God himself.

friend or a foe? Alarm clocks do serve a valuable role, and at times such are annoying but for good reason ... so you
are not late to school or work or an appointment. God’s Word also serves as an alarm clock f or our soul. We need it .
We will explore the why behind our need for His Word in this role of alarm clock. Careful, don’t hit the snooze button.

Worship Focus: Do you agree with the sayings ‘Never too old to learn something new” or “I learn something new every day”? Do we get to a point in life when it can be said ‘we know it all’? That would be quite a feat. While in a sense we never stop learning , it is also important to put into practice what we learn. Our School has been teaching valuable life skills for 50 years. Today we focus on some of those taught life skills with the reminder to not just learn them but to follow them as well. Happy learning! Blessings on the doing!
