We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: What will hurt you more: The ridicule and pressure given on account of your faith in Jesus, or abandoning that faith with the hope of an easier time of it on earth? Maybe at the moment you are not feeling the pressure for your faith in Jesus, give thanks; yet, if it is taking place, what do you need to help you endure? You are in the right place, keeping in mind the words of Hebrews 10 about not giving up meeting together. Let us, then, continue to encourage one another.

In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today.
We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: Who tends to be filled with, and expresses, hate? Is it the one who is opposed to God and His will for us human beings? Or, is it the one who holds to God and His will? While believers are not free from expressing hate, the one opposed to God seems to be driven by a hatred toward God and all He stands for and thus also those who believe in God. It is nothing new that those opposed to God and His ways will try to change the hearts of believers. The encouragement Jesus offers is very much valid and needed today. Keep the faith, brothers and sisters!

Worship Focus: Does what you plant in the ground end up on your plate all by itself or did you have a hand in getting the food to your plate? People don’t just come to faith in Jesus on their own. God uses people like yourself to share His Gospel with people and through a connection with the Gospel people have an opportunity to come to faith. It is not we who give faith, yet we have a role when it comes to seed planting and praying God bless the harvest. Reflect on your role when it comes to connecting people to the Gospel.

Worship Focus: Do you still get amazed by certain people (an athlete or someone who does an act of kindness) or by certain activities (fireworks display, filled in potholes)? There are times this life can seem dull and pointless, but it really is not; it is filled with things to be amazed at, including what is at the heart of our worship this morning. God continues to amaze us, if not, that is not on Him. We praise God for His amazing grace with you in mind.

We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: Do you want to believe in a God you can manipulate, or one that makes you jump through ‘hoops’ to please him? Thankfully the God of the Bible stands on His own, He cannot be manipulated, He does not need us to jump through ‘hoops’ in an attempt to gain His favor. This God is above us and at the same time He reveals Himself in a way that we can understand Him. Give thanks for the God of the Bible, who He is – three distinct Persons and yet one God; the God who has made us, redeemed us, and keeps us holy in His sight. This is the God we worship and for whom we live.

We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: It is about Jesus, the Holy Spirit (third Person of the Trinity and not inferior to the Father nor the Son), gets this and works through the Means of Grace so we get this too. Jesus is the One who has gained for us the forgiveness of sins, and all that comes with that verdict. The Holy Spirit makes it personal in us; and He is the One who equips us to take the message about Jesus to others. God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirt – be praised today and every day.

Worship Focus: Can it get worse, that is, this world we are living in as we hear about one senseless shooting after another, fights in schools, people robbed in their homes, and more? It can, and it may; but what we witness and hear about in some respects has been going on way before ‘today.’ We have come to know the heart of the problem; and, we have come to know the Solution. Jesus, the Solution, is aware and continues to make even the not pleasant parts of life serve a purpose. Let us continue to keep our focus on Him.

We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.
Worship Focus: Love, this word can be twisted to mean different things; the ‘different’ is evident in actions. Some actions are not loving but the person(s) behind the actions may say ‘they love you.’ Love does not intentionally hurt others, or even self. Love seeks to heal, sometimes to heal love has to come in the form of discipline. We all need love, above board love; we find the greatest example of love in word and action with the God of the Bible. His love is one to celebrate and to imitate. Let us then love as He loves us.

Worship Focus: Does trust have to be earned? If so, how does one go about earning trust, your trust? It is understandable why we would not be a trusting person, especially if someone has betreayed us. Trust can be earned back, it takes effort on the part of both parties. God is one we can trust. If there is an issue, it is not with Him but us. He remains consistent and true to Himself, and us. Today, note the distinctions of trusting in Him versus in someone or something else; in particular, when it comes to salvation, our salvation.
