We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love and forgiveness through Jesus.

Worship Focus: What expectations do you have for yourself? How do those expectations line up with God’s expectations for you? If you could sum up His expectations in one word, what word would that be, and why? The expectation that is repeated today is not to be practiced only when it is convenient for us to do so. May we then continue to be on the lookout for such opportunities.

Worship Focus: We know the world could use more love, and it can also use more respect especially when people have opposing viewpoints. Once again, today’s Scripture Readings hit our hearts as we review what areas of life we definitely need to improve on given who we are in Christ. God did not say living His way would be easy, yet it is necessary, and it is the way to glorify Him as well as benefit those around us even if they do not recognize or admit how that is the case. God help us walk the walk and talk the talk.

Worship Focus: Do you have troubles picking out what clothes to wear, even shopping for clothes? What we are planning to do for the day can weigh in on what clothing we decide to put on. There is another type of clothing we need to be mindful of, this one we do not pick out on our own; it has been given to us. Some people lose it or get it stained and don’t get it clean. Faith in Jesus is like that: Some reject Him while others take what He has given us to put on and fill it with stains. So, today we will look at our God-given clothing and review how to treat it and why such matters.

Worship Focus: Are you one who easily gives up on things, especially if something is not going your way? How has your life not gone the way you planned or hoped it would go? How did you respond to those moments or circumstances (perhaps you are still dealing with them)? God knows this earthly life is not going to be easy, this is why He reminds us to stay focused on what is ahead … in this way we can deal with and endure the present. Let us then continually pray, praise, and give thanks to this God who has shown, and continues to show, His concern for us.

Worship Focus: Accountability, Responsibility, Humility … All good traits for people to put into practice, starting with ourselves and then encouraging others to do the same. Think of what is missing in our current society, which again is nothing new; however, if we could put such traists into practice on a consistent basis imagine what life would be like. God does know what He is talking about. What will it take for people to listen to Him? Let us continue to listen, and to practice such traits.

Worship Focus: It is natural to think that we can earn our way to heaven, if we even believe in heaven. That thought process runs contrary to God’s way and teaching; and yet countless churches advocate our natural way of thinking, and this undermines what God has repeatedly said – it is by faith we are saved, not by our works. Give thanks God’s way is the way for who of us could hold up our works as being sufficient? Give thanks for His mercies fresh and new each day.

Worship Focus: Why is forgiving someone who has wronged us difficult to do? To forgive from the heart does not come naturally, think of our initial reaction to some offense against us. We need to know, and to be reminded of often, of our own forgiveness – this from God; then, we are in a position and have the desire to offer forgiveness as we have been forgiven. Imagine a world where forgiveness from the heart was the norm. God help us take to heart His Word before us today.

As it is for our body, so it is for our soul … and not just ours but the souls of all people, including the ones we know and love. This leads to the sensitive and yet necessary topic before us today.

The Lord does not hide the fact our life on earth will be full of challenges even on account of faith in Him. What the Lord allows, He also provides what is needed to hold on. This is nothing new as we observe once again today. God be praised for keeping in front of us what we need to endure, and dare we say - thrive.
