Welcome to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School!
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s.  We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today.  We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through Jesus.

Worship Focus:  The church season of Advent draws our attention to the two comings of Jesus. Without the first we would not be able to be ready for the second. Since Jesus has already come once we need to be ready for Him to come again. Our Scripture Readings for today do just that, prepare us through the Word of God to be ready whenever He comes. So let us focus not on when that will take place but rather on being prepared at all times, giving evidence that we are ready.

Happy Thanksgiving 2017! November 22 … St. Mark’s in Citrus Heights

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on both the earthly aspects of life as well as the spiritual. The Lord truly gives us our “daily bread,” and He has also provided for the needs of our soul. To Him, then, be all our praise today and every day through our voices and our actions.

Celebrating 500 years of 

Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and Scripture Alone

Worship Focus: Martin Luther risked his life and stood upon God's Word and the promise of God's grace through faith in Jesus' work as the central message of the Bible.  Now 500 years later, we celebrate and stand upon the same truths.  We don't deserve the love of God; he simply gives it to us because of his grace.  We don't earn forgiveness by our works; God grants it to us through his gift of faith.  We don't lean on our own understanding; the Holy Scriptures alone are our source for truth in what we teach.  Guided by these three principles, this evening we offer our praise and thanks to our gracious God for his Son and the Word that has revealed him to us.
